TV Ads Begin in Kentucky's Race For Governor

The Republican Governor's Association has entered Kentucky's race for governor with a statewide TV ad attacking Democratic nominee Jack Conway.

Conway leads Republican nominee Matt Bevin in fundraising by a large margin. On Tuesday, Conway began spending his money by placing two TV ads that touted his western Kentucky roots and his record as the state's attorney general.

The RGA ad says Conway supports the policies of Democratic President Barack Obama, who is widely unpopular in Kentucky. An RGA spokesman said they entered the race because they think Bevin can win.

A spokesman for Conway noted he has sued the Obama administration twice. Conway sued the EPA over emissions for coal-fired power plants and won. He also recently challenged rules regulating ponds and streams on farms. That case is pending.
