UK and UofL Are Teaming Up for an MBA Program

The University of Kentucky and the University of Louisville will offer a joint executive MBA program that focuses on extending education for business leaders. With a tuition price tag of just more than $67,000, the joint program will offer about 40 mid-level executives the opportunity to work with senior faculty members and learn new skills, officials said. The class is set to begin in the fall of 2014.Graduates will receive a joint degree from both UK and UofL after completion of the 17-month program.Vernon Foster is the executive director of UofL’s MBA program and said the collaboration is a way to create a bridge among the state’s top institutions.“It’s about helping the state,” he said.Nearly 200 people have shown interest in the program, Foster said, but enrollment will be “highly selective.”The program includes an all-inclusive trip to Washington, D.C., and an international trip (a specific location has yet to be decided), Foster said.Classes will be held at both the UofL Belknap campus and UK campus in Lexington.  Participants must provide approval from their employers, as the class requires some weekday participation.(Image via Shutterstock)
