BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Monroe County Council member Shelli Yoder is running again for southern Indiana's 9th District congressional seat.

Yoder is a as a senior lecturer at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business.

The Bloomington resident is the first Democrat to announce a candidacy in the district.

On the Republican side, Attorney General Greg Zoeller and state Sens. Erin Houchin of Salem and Brent Waltz of Greenwood have announced they're running for the seat being vacated by Republican incumbent Todd Young. Young is seeking the Senate seat being vacated by Dan Coats.
