Abramson Calls Ford Meeting 'Positive'

Louisville Mayor Jerry Abramson says he’s encouraged by the trip he took yesterday to Dearborn, Michigan to meet with Ford Motor Company executives. Governor Steve Beshear and economic development leaders were also on the trip. Abramson says the meeting was extremely positive."The crowd at Ford is really fired up at this point, they feel like they’re turned the corner, they feel like they have handled their internal issues, and now if they can deal with the external issues, the economy that we all have to deal with, they feel like they’ve turned the corner," said Abramson.Abramson says Ford officials reiterated their earlier promise to bring a new vehicle – and the corresponding production – to the Louisville Assembly Plant, which is losing a shift this summer due to flagging sales of the Ford Explorer.
