Grawemeyer Winner Hopes Genocide Research Will Help Prevent Future Atrocities

University of Wisconsin-Madison professor Scott Straus is the recipient of this year’s Grawemeyer Award for Improving World Order from the University of Louisville. Straus is the author of a recent book on war, leadership and genocide in modern Africa. He says his work is driven by a desire to better understand the issues and factors surrounding events that lead to genocide and political violence.
