Air Travel May Be Thin This Weekend

In spring when fuel costs were rising, many airlines reduced the number of available seats in order to save money. That may have thinned out the pre-holiday crowds, but airport spokesperson Trish Burke says it’s hard to tell. She says many airlines offer deals for off-peak travel days, which has spread out the traditional rush of travelers.“What we’ve seen is that instead of a big peak on Tuesday or Wednesday we’ve seen Thanksgiving Day travelers start traveling as early as last weekend," says Burke.Burke says officials won’t know how this travel season compares to previous years until after the weekend.
