Animal Services Wants to Adopt Out 100 Pets This Weekend

Metro Animal Services hopes to adopt out 100 pets this weekend. They’re discounting their adoption fees through Saturday to encourage adoptions.Spokesperson Jackie Gulbe says it’s for the benefit of the agency and the pets.“The animals that survived the flood have been through a lot," says Gulbe, "and we want to make sure they get a new home as quickly as possibly and we figured that by reducing the adoption fees that would expedite things.”Gulbe says the agency is still hobbling back after last week’s flood. She says having fewer animals will help the staff work more quickly to restore the facility.Through the end of Saturday, Metro Animal Services will take off thirty-percent of the adoption fee and another twenty-percent if you bring a donated item they need. The regular adoption fee for an altered domestic pet ranges from 75-to-250 dollars.
