Another Group Of Medical Professionals Bound For Haiti

A group of medical professionals from Louisville will travel to Haiti Sunday to help with earthquake relief efforts.More than a month after the earthquake, nurse practitioner Cindy Ware says the team is expecting to handle untreated injuries when they reach their destination, south of Port-au-Prince."A lot of wounds, a lot, a lot of wounds that are burns or scrapes or lacerations…so we'll be stitching and debriding and dressing wounds, giving antibiotics," she says.Ware helped organize the trip, but will not travel with the physicians due to an injury. The trip was put together with help from the Kentucky Baptist Convention and Haitian Christian Outreach.
