AT&T To Give Refugee Ministries New Computers

The AT&T Foundation and Connect Kentucky will provide Kentucky Refugee Ministries with 20 new computers for the ministries’ English as a Second Language program.Last year, AT&T agreed to give Connect Kentucky 150 thousand dollars to spend on such programs, and the company suggested some of those funds be spent on the Refugee Ministries. But Andrew McNeill with Connect Kentucky says AT&T doesn’t dictate where all of the money is to be spent.“We’ve been alerted to organizations from Metro Council members," he says. "We’ve been alerted to organizations from State senator Gerald Neal. We’ve been alerted to organizations from any number of places.”McNeill says Connect Kentucky plans to spend about 13 thousand dollars on the new equipment.
