Louisville's Bellarmine Knights are the national champions of men's NCAA Division II basketball. The Knights defeated BYU-Hawaii 71-68 today in Springfield, Massachusetts to claim the school's first-ever men's basketball title. Jeremy Kindle and Justin Bendetti led Bellarmine with 16 and 15 points, respectively.A welcome home celebration for the team will be held at 9:15am Sunday at Knights Hall on the Bellarmine campus.
Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
