Beshear Leads Kentucky's DNC Delegation

From Kentucky Public Radio's Tony McVeighKentucky Governor Steve Beshear wants Illinois Senator Barack Obama to bring his presidential campaign to Kentucky this fall. The governor says he'll be lobbying for that at this week’s Democratic National Convention in Denver."I’m going to be working with his campaign to try to convince them to come and campaign in Kentucky. I think his main problem in Kentucky is just that Kentuckians don’t know him very well.  He hasn’t been here and spent enough time here.   So, the more we can get him and Joe Biden into this state, the more chance we’ll have of winning." Beshear said.Beshear is heading Kentucky’s delegation to the convention. It’s Beshear’s first national convention since 1984, when he was lieutenant governor. Walter Mondale was the Democratic presidential nominee that year. He went on to lose to President Ronald Reagan.
