Beshear Runs Fifth TV Ad, Williams Campaign 'Hope and Pray' for Resources

Pummeling Republican gubernatorial candidate David Williams on the airwaves, Democratic Governor Steve Beshear has released his fifth television ad of the general election, which highlight cuts to pending and reducing the size of state government. The 30-second spot begins airing Monday and will run through Labor Day. It  features the governor at various locations in Frankfort discussing the elimination of some political appointee positions, selling two state airplanes and reducing the government fleet to save money."Families have cut back and so has state government," says Beshear. "Leading by example is what state government is all about."Check it out (h/t Pure Politics):Observers have noted this is another week of new advertisements from the Beshear campaign that are running uncontested.According to the last campaign finance report, Beshear had $2.7 million in the bank compared to less than $100,000 for Williams.A few have said the GOP nominee still has a chance to make the race competitive despite trailing by 24 points in the polls, but it didn't help that Williams's campaign chairman said they're going to "hope and pray" for campaign resources right now.
