Beshear Speaks At KLC Convention

Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear told local government leaders from across the state Friday that they shouldn't be intimidated by the tough economic times.During a speech to the Kentucky League of Cities convention in Louisville, Beshear said the state is pressing even harder now to attract new industry to Kentucky, beyond manufacturing jobs."They're important, but we're also recruiting high tech, bioscience and other companies, who will play a big role in the 21st century economy. And when they come here, we also want them to bring their engineers, their designers, their administrators," Beshear said.Beshear says further development of Kentucky's adventure toursim industry is also critical to the state's economic health. The Kentucky League of Cities convention continues through Saturday.
