Bicycling for Louisville to Hold Third "Move by Bike"

The non-profit organization Bicycling for Louisvillewill hold its third annual “Move by Bike” tomorrow. This will be the third time Bicycling for Louisville has moved the contents of a home or office using only bicycles. Mary Beth Brown is the president of the board. She says the event will accomplish a practical goal, as well as make a statement about bicycle use.“It’s a really interesting way to showcase the power of bicycles,” she said. “A lot of people don’t know that you can hook up trailers to your bike and it’s a great way to look at how much the bike can do. It can transport you, but it can also transport a lot of other things.”She says the group will use trailers to transport boxes and small furniture, but would probably draw the line at a piano.“I think a couch is probably about as big as we get,” she said. “Bookshelves—we’ve done bookshelves before. It’s pretty amazing what you can haul.”The group will be moving a family about three miles, from the Highlands to Crescent Hill. The move begins at 10:00 tomorrow morning.
