Bill Eases College Transfers

From Kentucky Public Radio’s Tony McVeighA bill moving in the Kentucky General Assembly will make it easier for community college students to transfer course credits to public universities.Currently, some community college graduates are denied full credit at state universities for courses already taken. That will no longer be the case under legislation sponsored by House Education Committee Chair Carl Rollins. “This bill will help our students and our families. It will help them get their education and work toward a bachelor degree at reduced costs, and without a lot of hassle.”The bill, which also gives associate degree students priority admission to state universities and limits bachelor degree programs to 120 credit hours, sailed through the House 97-0 and moves to the Senate.
