Bunning Says He Won't Release Poll Results

U.S. Senator Jim Bunning of Kentucky says he won't release the results of a statewide poll he commissioned last month to guage support for his re-election bid next year.Bunning was asked about the poll numbers during his weekly conference call with reporters Tuesday. The Republican would say only that the poll was indeed conducted. He didn't mince words when asked what that means."That means it's none of your g**d*** business," he said, laughing.  Bunning has repeatedly said he plans to seek a third term in 2010, even though he has raised relatively little campaign cash. He's considered by many observers to be one of the most vulnerable Senate Republicans up for re-election next year.Kentucky Senate President and fellow Republican David Williams says he hasn't ruled out seeking his party's nomination for Bunning's seat.So far the only people to publicly announce their intentions to seek the seat are Republican and retired engineer Roger Thoney of northern Kentucky and Democratic Lt. Governor Dan Mongiardo, whom Bunning narrowly defeated in 2004.
