Cabbage Patch Settlement House Begins Expansion

Ground was broken Friday morning for a $7 million expansion project at  Louisville's Cabbage Patch Settlement House. The Cabbage Patch is a nearly 100 year old non-profit organization that offers educational, counseling and other programs to hundreds of at-risk children and their families each year.Executive Director Reverend Tracy Holladay says it's hoped the improvements at its campus in Old Louisville will be completed in about a year.                "We're actually adding about 19,000 square feet of new space and renovating 10,000 square feet of exisiting space. This is a project that's been in the planning stage for a long time, it took a long time to get approvals, but we're ready to go," Holladay said. The organization is in the midst of a capital campaign to pay for the improvements, with about $3.4 million raised thus far. ¼/p>
