The University of Louisville and Jewish Hospital have scheduled a press conference Wednesday to announce what they're calling a medical first: a clinical trial using adult cardiac stem cells to repair damaged heart tissue.Speaking Tuesday on WFPL's State of Affairs program, U of L President Dr. James Ramsey wouldn't disclose much about the trial, other than to call it 'exciting' news."It has profound implications on the quality of life, not just of our community and state, but for the United States and the world," Ramsey said.Details about the clinical trial will be disclosed Wednesday morning on the U of L Health Sciences campus.
