Cards Face Marshall In First Saturday Home Game

After a week off, the University of Louisville football team returns to action tomorrow, hosting Marshall.The Cards hold a 16-11 edge in their series with the Thundering Herd. Marshall won the last matchup in the 2002 Motor City Bowl. "I feel like we’re going to have some excitement because of the Kentucky win, now we’re coming back home to our stadium. We have to play better at home. We haven’t played very well in our stadium here and we need to do that. But it’s going to be a good test and I’m looking forward to the challenge for our football team," said U of L coach Charlie Strong. The Cards are coming off a 24-17 win two weeks ago at Kentucky.Kickoff at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium is 3:30pm UK will face the number one team in the country, Louisiana State. The Indiana Hoosiers take on Penn State in Bloomington.

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
