Charlie White Trial Winding Down

Closing arguments are set for tomorrow in the criminal trial of Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White.White's defense lawyer rested Thursday without presenting a case against voter fraud charges that could oust him from office. White is charged with seven felony counts including fraud, perjury and theft. If he’s convicted of a single felony count, he faces removal from office and possible prison time. Prosecutors claim White used his ex-wife's address on his voter registration form in the 2010 Republican primary when he actually had a condo elsewhere with his fiance. They also say he continued to collect a salary for a council position when he had moved from the district he was supposed to represent.White contends his ex-wife’s house was his primary address at the time.(Information for this story also came from the Associated Press)
