Charlie White's Wife And Ex-Wife Testify At Removal Hearing

The wife of embattled Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White says he didn't live with her until after they were married. Her testimony came during an Indiana Recount Commission hearing to determine if White committed voter fraud and should be removed from office. Michelle Quigley-White says Charlie White, then her fiancé, spent much of his time on the road during his campaign for office but often stayed at his ex-wife's home with his 10-year-old son. She says White and his son did sometimes spent the night at the condo he bought for him and Michelle. White’s ex-wife Nicole Mills testified that their divorce was amicable and that White used her home as his primary address during the time period in question. "We’re still friends. We may have different views about life and careers and things like that. But at the end of the day the most important thing is that we are parents to our child," she said. Democrats claim the Republican White used his ex-wife's address on a voter registration form when he actually was living in the condo. White denied accusations that he used the address to keep his seat on the Fishers Town Council. A ruling against White would invalidate his election and force his removal from office. He also could face jail time if convicted in a separate criminal case. The recount commission did not issue a ruling today.(Information for this story also came from the Associated Press)
