Chelsea Clinton Visits New Albany

Chelsea Clinton campaigned for her mother, presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, in New Albany Tuesday. The stop marked her second appearance in the Louisville area this month. When Chelsea Clinton visited Louisville on April first, she spent some time talking about her mother’s campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination. A week later in her speech at Indiana University Southeast, Clinton focused on policy, not politics. One major focus of Clinton’s speech was education. She said her mother would improve public schools and help graduates pay for college. This could be done, she said, by repealing the Bush tax cuts for anyone making over a quarter million dollars per year.“By going back to the higher tax rates, my mom will be able to pay for everything she wants to do on public school reform," said Clinton. "It’ll also help her pay for extending and expanding President Bush’s middle class tax cut and for radically reforming and updating the earned income tax credit.”Indiana’s primary is May 6. Former President Bill Clinton will campaign in Southern Indiana next week.
