Christie to Headline RPK Lincoln Day Dinner

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will be the keynote speaker at the Republican Party of Kentucky's annual Lincoln Day Dinner on May 19.Last year, Republicans were urging the outspoken governor to enter the GOP primary for president, but Christie declined. He has since endorsed former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney for the nomination. In a recent speech before an economic conference, Christie praised former President George W. Bush for inspiring a new generation of conservatives before discussing how he cut state spending, capped property taxes and reformed public employee benefits."We’re extremely excited to welcome a Republican powerhouse like Governor Christie to Kentucky," Republican Party of Kentucky Chairman Steve Robertson said in a news release. "Governor Christie’s tough, no-nonsense leadership style makes him the perfect conservative messenger to inspire and energize Republicans to defeat Barack Obama in 2012."The dinner will be held at the Marriott Griffin Gate hotel in Lexington at 6 p.m.
