Christmas Day Dinner To Be Served At St Vincent de Paul

Many Louisville charitable organizations are opening their doors this Christmas to help those who are less fortunate or perhaps just looking for some holiday companionship.St. Vincent de Paul will serve a traditional Christmas Day dinner starting at noon at its Open Hand Kitchen at 1026 South Jackson Street. It's free and open to the public. Spokesperson Linda Romine says about 350 people showed up for the meal last year."(They included) homeless people who live in the shelters in support of housing programs on our campus in the Shelby Park/Smoketown neighborhood. A lot of those people will join us for their Christmas meal. We have a lot of walk-ins from the community as well. We'll probably have families in need come and share Christmas dinner with us, and people from throughout Louisville," she said. At The Healing Place for homeless people recovering from alcohol and drug addictions, a Gratitude Meeting and Christmas Day lunch will be held at its men's community at West Market Street, and its women's and children's community on South 15th Street.
