For the second day in a row,Churchill Downs is cancelling its live racing program because of a frozen main track.
The racetrack announced Thursday that it's canceling live racing for Thursday.
This week’s plummeting temperatures forced officials to call off racing Wednesday. They were hoping that warmer temperatures and sunshine would allow the maintenance crew to get the track back in racing shape, but they’ve have been hampered by high winds.
There is little significant chance of improvement in conditions until well into Thursday, the racetrack said in a news release.
In its news release, Churchill Downs added:
The Churchill Downs fall meet continues through Nov. 30.
