CIR Inauguration Party To Focus On Community Service

The Center for Interfaith Relations is hosting an inauguration party in Louisville Tuesday evening that will focus on responsibility. The “From Hope to Change” party will celebrate President-Elect Barack Obama’s inauguration, but center spokesperson Mark Steiner says the party’s theme is service, not politics.“This is not a partisan event," he says. "We feel like this is an historic moment for all citizens and we hope that everyone in the community will take advantage of it as a moment to really make a commitment to contributing to a better tomorrow.”Steiner says information on volunteer and service opportunities in Louisville will be available at the party, which begins at 7pm Tuesday at the First Unitarian Church.
