Louisville civil rights leaders are remembering the work of fellow activist Alice Wade, who died Wednesday.Wade was a staff member at the Kentucky Alliance Against Racial and Political Repression, where she began volunteering in the 1980s.She was a longtime associate of the late civil rights activist Anne Braden, and a board member of the American Civil Liberties Union of Kentucky, where Executive Director Michael Aldridge remembered her dedication."She was at the forefront of every fight against injustice in this community. She fought for equality for everyone in this community her entire life, and we will sorely miss her voice at the table and miss her smiling face," Aldridge said.Alice Wade died Wednesday at Jewish Hospital after a short illness. She was 69. A memorial service is planned for Monday morning.
