Clark Memorial Bridge Reopens Ahead of Schedule

The Clark Memorial Bridge has reopened about a week ahead of schedule. The bridge was closed to all traffic July 8 to allow for construction on the Indiana approach related to the Ohio River Bridges Project. The bridge reopened late Thursday night.Project spokeswoman Mindy Peterson said northbound motorists will have to follow a new traffic pattern."What’s going to happen and what drivers will see, is that when they’re traveling north on the bridge, they have to exit on Court Avenue, that is their only option," she said. "And what they will do is that if they want to connect with I-65 north, we’ll have a signed detour in place."The new traffic pattern will be in place for about a year to allow for construction of a flyover ramp. The Clark Memorial Bridge remains closed to pedestrians. Peterson says workers are still building new sidewalks on the Indiana approach.
