The Kentucky Wildcats snapped a 26-game losing streak to Tennessee today, defeating the Volunteers 10-7 at Commonwealth Stadium. UK was led by Matt Roark, a receiver who played his first-ever collegiate game at quarterback. The senior ran for 124 yards as UK kept mostly to a ground game. Roark was pressed into duty to replace injured quarterbacks Morgan Newton and Maxwell Smith.Kentucky finishes the season with a 5-7 record. Tennessee dropped to 5-7 and was denied a bowl berth. The University of Louisville Cardinals will have to wait a week to find out if they’ll receive a bid to a Bowl Championship Series game. A loss by Cincinnati would give the Cards an automatic BCS bid, but the Bearcats defeated Syracuse today. Cincinnati has one regular season game remaining next week, against Connecticut.
