The Kentucky Wildcats defeated Central Michigan 27-13 Saturday in their college football season home opener.The Wildcats trailed 13-6 at halftime but sprang to life with three second-half touchdowns, including an 87 yard run by freshman running back Josh Clemons.Kentucky returns to action against U of L Saturday at Commonwealth Stadium.Indiana University dropped to 0-2 on the season with a 34-31 loss to visiting Virginia, which kicked a field goal on the final play of the game.
Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
