Compass Airlines Celebrates Maintenance Hub Opening

Compass Airlines celebrated the opening of its maintenance hub today at Louisville International Airport. The airline is a carrier of Delta Connection, and selected Louisville in 2007 as the site of its maintenance facility.Compass Airlines President Tim Campbell says the airline industry is getting increasingly competitive, and Compass took that into consideration when choosing a permanent location.“So we were looking for more than just a geographically convenient location connected to a fantastic airport," says Campbell. "The reason we’re here in Louisville today is we have found a partner, and partners, that demonstrated their genuine interest in helping us realize our vision.”The nine-point-five million dollar facility will eventually employ about 70 people, with an annual payroll of three-million dollars.
