Construction Begins on New Nucleus Building

After several delays, construction is now underway on a new building at the Nucleus site.Nucleus is the University of Louisville's life sciences campus. Plans to add buildings to the campus—which is on the old haymarket block on Market Street—stalled during the recession, but last year officials announced plans for several new buildings.“The next building that will be coming online will have wet and dry lab space. This will be offices for researches and IT space,” said Nucleus CEO Vicki Yates Brown in November. “This building is being built because it’s the right thing to do. We’ve got the demand for this building. We will do the same thing for the other construction. As the demand warrants it, we will be building it.”According to a release, crews are currently working on the archeological investigation of the site.
