A Louisville Metro Council committee has approved the mayor's nominee to the Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District Board of Trustees.By a vote of 3-2 and after some contentious debate, the council's Contracts and Appointments Committee confirmed the nomination of Rosemary Mattingly to the board.Such appointments are typically routine, but her nomination by Mayor Jerry Abramson last month drew objections from Metro Councilman Doug Hawkins and others who said Abramson ignored the district's elected choice for the post, Michael Priddy. But the mayor said he could not legally consider Priddy for the seat because the balloting process by which he was chosen was not allowed by state statute. He then selected Mattingly. The seat's term will expire in mid-2013.
