Crosbie Files To Run For Kentucky Treasurer

The first woman to file for statewide office in Kentucky this year is K.C. Crosbie, who’s running for state Treasurer. The 41-year old Republican currently is serving her third term on the Lexington Urban County Council. She’s also been studying the state Treasurer’s office. “They take all checks that come in and also make sure everything goes out. So, just like a household, everything that comes in has to be deposited and bills have to be paid and they invest. And so, it’s a tremendous opportunity. I’ve looked into it. I’ve done a lot of research. And I think there’s also a lot of great things we can do to improve the office,” she said. The University of Kentucky graduate is married to Lexington lawyer Scott Crosbie and has three children. The Treasurer’s office is currently held by Democrat Todd Hollenbach of Louisville.
