Debris Clean-Up Offered to Louisville Elderly, Disabled

Metro United Way is teaming up with city government and a local volunteer organization to help those who are physically unable to clean up limbs from last month’s ice storm.Metro United Way will serve as logistical support in the effort, and workers with the group Kentucky Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster will volunteer their time to clean up debris. United Way spokesperson Mark Zanni says they helped with a similar effort after last year’s wind storm."We were able to take care of over 600 people that were in desperate need of cleaning up their yards a couple months ago, hopefully we won’t have as much need, but we’ll find out as we get into it," says Zanni.Citizens who want to ask for help can contact Metro United Way through Thursday to get connected with volunteer support.
