Deliberations In Stinson Trial Could Begin Soon

Jury deliberations in the trial of former Pleasure Ridge Park High School football coach Jason Stinson will begin soon.On Wednesday, Judge Susan Schultz Gibson told the jury the trial is nearly over."We are anticipating that you will get this case tomorrow," she said. "There is one additional witness and then we would go into instructions and closing arguments."That final witness is Dr. Bill Smock, who is out of town but has recorded his testimony. Smock has a long record of testifying for the commonwealth, but he says in the video that he believes 15-year-old Max Gilpin's death was an accident and not the result of overexertion and dehydration as the prosecution asserts.Stinson is charged with reckless homicide and wanton endangerment in Gilpin's death. Smock's testimony will fall on the 13th day of the trial.
