Education Department Seeks Highly Skilled Educators

The Kentucky Education Department is seeking experienced teachers and administrators to serve as Highly Skilled Educators. These educators undergo extensive training and are then assigned to an under-performing school to help bring the school back into proficiency.Department spokesperson Lisa Gross says it’s mutually beneficial for the educator and the school."A lot of the Highly Skilled Educators over the years have spent a lot of time working with schools and then they go back to their school districts," says Gross, "and even if their school districts are doing well, they have learned things from those schools and from the work they’ve done in those schools that can help their own school districts."Gross says they state usually has between 30 and 45 Highly Skilled Educators at any given time. The application deadline is the end of next month.
