Embattled Councilwoman Judy Green to Host Radio Show

Impeached Louisville Metro Councilwoman Judy Green, D-1, announced Friday she will be the host of her own radio program later this month. The 30-minute show will be called "Something to Talk About" and will air on gospel station WLOU-1350 AM, the city's oldest African-American radio station. It will air every Saturday afternoon and could be extended to an hour-long show depending on audience feedback.Program director Bill Price says Green is paying for the show through her dentistry office, and had been negotiating a deal with the station for the past several months."I thought it would be a good idea just to have a platform to get her message out. She's heavily involved in the community and most of our programs are centered around the community. It just seemed logical to do it," he says. The show will include Green interviewing guests, discussing local issues and giving out awards to people who are active in the district. However, Price has discouraged the beleaguered lawmaker from discussing her brewing ethics scandal or upcoming removal trial."We talked about that and I doubt it very seriously," says Price. "It wouldn’t be a smart move with an ongoing investigation in progress to talk about anything pertaining to that. I’d prefer that not be the case. She has no plans to bring those issues up."The show debuts July 9 at 4 p.m.
