Fall Semester Begins at U-of-L, 200 Classes Moved

More than 200 classes at the University of Louisville have had to be moved to another location, some perhaps for the rest of the semester. Classes start today at U-of-L.President James Ramsey says the flooding that took place earlier this month has left the university with an estimated $15-million in damage, and some buildings are still closed. He says they have tried to move classes to convenient places for students.“We looked at shuttle systems, we looked at a number of other spaces, but we wanted to keep all of our student academic classes on the Belknap campus so students could go from one class to another with a minimal amount of disruption," says Ramsey. Some of the university’s night classes have been moved to nearby duPont Manual High School. Ramsey says students have been notified via email and signs will be posted on where their classes have been moved. The College of Education building sustained the heaviest damage on campus, and is still closed.
