A new special agent in charge has been named for the Louisville FBI office.Perrye Turner will replace Elizabeth Fries who was promoted to deputy assistant director of the FBI Training Division in Virginia.“My goal is to make the office better, make it a more efficiently run organization, to continue to address the FBI on national priorities," Turner told WFPL.Turner will oversee the Louisville office, which moved to a new building in the East End in 2009 after several regional offices were consolidated. Turner said the move has so far been successful.“It definitely makes it a more positive work environment which increases production. It’s a step above the previous location where the employees worked out of," he said. The FBI employs a number of special agents across the state with the largest presence in the Louisville region, he said.Since September 11th there has been an increase in joint investigations between the FBI and local and state officers, and collaborations between the state and federal government are now more common, said FBI officials.
