Felon Voting Rights Amendment Clears Committee

A constitutional amendment restoring voting rights to convicted felons who have served their time has cleared a Kentucky House committee.This is Lexington Rep. Jesse Crenshaw’s fifth attempt to win passage of the measure, and he remains optimistic of its chances.“I’m gonna work as hard as I can," he says. "I hope we can get it out of the House and the Senate and enacted into law. I’m not speaking for the governor, but I feel optimistic that the governor will sign it if it makes it through both houses.”The committee also approved a constitutional amendment assuring Kentuckians’ right to hunt and fish. Both bills now go to the House floor.
