The first of three public forums on the search process for a Louisville police chief will be held tomorrow. Chief Robert White is leaving Louisville to become the next police chief of Denver, a job he’ll take over in about two weeks. The Denver City Council this week gave final approval to White’s contract.Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer says he’ll field a list of candidates from both inside and outside the department to succeed White, who oversaw the merger of the city and county police departments in 2003.The first forum on the search process will be held tomorrow at the NIA Center on West Broadway, starting at 6:00pm.Two more forums will be held in December.Fischer expects to name an interim chief in December, and to have a permanent chief in place by April.
