Fischer Appoints Ingram Quick Permanent City Auditor

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer has named interim Internal Auditor Ingram Quick as the permanent inspector of the city's accounts. The Office of Internal Audit is charged with providing independent accounts of various Metro Government operations to assure their effectiveness. The department has been responsible for highlighting a number of inefficiencies and controversies in recent years over city spending.Quick has served in the interim role since April following the retirement of longtime auditor Mike Norman, who left in May."Ingram has strong skills and qualifications and has done an excellent job during the past few months. We looked far and realized that the best person for the job was right here in city government," says Fischer. Quick is a certified fraud investigator and auditor who has been with the city for over a decade. He is the first African-American to serve in the position."I am extremely excited about this opportunity and challenge. I look forward to helping the mayor pursue his goal of creating a more open, accountable and efficient city government," he says. The appointment is effective January 10. Quick will earn $90,000 annually.
