Fischer: Owsley Brown II "An Exceptional Human Being"

Mayor Greg Fischer released the following statement about the death of Owsley Brown II. The 69 year old businessman and philanthropist died Monday after a short illness. “Owsley Brown has left a legacy in our city in so many ways, from the arts to education to the business community. I’ve lost a dear friend and the community has lost a compassionate man of rare leadership and generosity. Owsley lifted up so many people in so many ways. His greatest legacy will be the loving and kind way he led Brown-Forman and gave back to our city. He was an exceptional human being.”

Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
