Fischer Promoting Obama Jobs Plan in White House Video Campaign

Addressing local unemployment and the city's infrastructure needs, Louisville Metro Mayor Greg Fischer is part of an official White House video campaign promoting President Obama's jobs plan.Fischer joined the mayors of Los Angeles, Baltimore, Denver and Cincinnati, who are all promoting the American Jobs Act.Fischer cited the closure of the Sherman Minton Bridge as an example of why Congress should put the jobs bill ahead of deficit reduction."This is 'exhibit A' on why we need to be investing in our infrastructure in our country," he says. "People understand we've got to reduce the debt. That's mid-term, long-term, but short-term we've got to get the jobs back in our country."Part of the $447 billion jobs plan would fund construction projects to fix the country’s roads, highways and bridges and will put people back to work, White House officials say. From the White House:
