Fischer honors Bellarmine Knights

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer proclaimed Saturday, March 26 to be “Scarlet and Silver Day” in honor Bellarmine Knights men's basketball team, which will compete for the NCAA Division II championship in Springfield, Massachusetts.Coached by Scott Davenport, the Knights advanced to the title game with an 81-74 victory over Minnesota State-Mankato on Thursday.“We are very proud of Coach Davenport’s team, what they’ve accomplished and how they will represent our city in this national championship game,” Fischer said in a news release. “The Knights play hard, with a lot of teamwork and are a true hometown team, with six players from Louisville and others from around the region.”The Knights will play BYU-Hawaii for the national championship Saturday at 1:00pm
