Following Glitch, Indiana Extends Tax Deadline

It's not too late for Indiana residents to file their state income tax returns without penalty.Indiana's electronic filing system, called I-File, had a record number of Hoosiers online on tax day.Department of Revenue spokesperson Stephanie McFarland says the server load, combined with a computer glitch, blocked thousands of returns from being filed through the system."We had it upgraded earlier in the season to accommodate 30,000 I-File users per hour and that glitch slowed it down to only allow about 500 filers an hour."McFarland says between seven and ten thousand Hoosiers were blocked from sending their returns. They now have through Sunday night to file.
