Former Councilwoman Green Sued Over Botched Grill

A west Louisville resident is suing former Metro Councilwoman Judy Green, alleging the dentist botched a procedure and disfigured him.According to Christopher Skillman, Green was "grossly negligent" when she installed a grill on his four front bottom teeth and that she "failed to exercise the requisite degree of care and skill required of a prudent dentist." The suit is in Jefferson Circuit Court and claims that due to Green's alleged malpractice, Skillman has experienced pain, suffering and cosmetic disfigurement as a result. The case does not ask for a specific amount, but does ask for compensation for any future medical and dental expenses attributable to Green’s action. Skillman is reportedly still receiving dental work to recover from the procedure. From the Courier-Journal: Skillman’s attorney, Bryan Armstrong, said the amount of money Skillman has spent on his teeth is still to be determined. He said the four front bottom teeth are still missing, and he’s had to have root canal surgery as a result of Green’s work. "He’s not even close to being done," Armstrong said. "He’s experienced a lot of pain." Skillman, who Armstrong said is in his mid-30s, went for an initial visit with Green in February 2011 and continued seeing her through March. Armstrong said Skillman’s teeth were filed down too low, which caused the roots to die.Last year, the Metro Council voted unanimously to expel Green from office due to two violations of the city's code of ethics. First elected in 2006, she was the first elected official removed in Metro Government history.
