Former Housing Director Arraigned

The former director of Louisville's Housing and Family Services Department and her mother have been arraigned on theft charges.Kimberly Bunton resigned after it was revealed that her mother, Vicki Smallwood, received about two thousand dollars in low-income housing assistance while Bunton led the department. Both are charged with felony theft. Their trials are set November 8th.Family friend Reverend Frank M. Smith Jr. attended Monday's arraignment. He says he supports Bunton and all of the details of the case have not been revealed."I would think it important that the mayor also have an opportunity to speak in court himself about he situation if charges are being levied against her," he says. "All parties need to be in question."Both Bunton and Smallwood pleaded not guilty and were released on their own recognizance.
