Fourteen UofL Students Named Fulbright Scholars

Fourteen University of Louisville students have been named 2011 Fulbright Scholars for the second year in a row. This year’s Fulbright scholars are all from Kentucky and they graduated in 2009, 2010 or 2011.Last year’s 14 was more than Georgetown, Duke and MIT, and placed UofL in the 10 of all public institutions. The Fulbright Program, funded by the U.S. State Department, pays for students to study, teach or conduct research abroad for up to a year. The University attributed the recent success to the introduction of the National and International Scholarship Opportunities office in 2000, which the school says has helped UofL students to win over 60 Fulbright scholarships since.
